The Day No Pigs Would Die

My pet's are some of the most important things in my life. I have a cat named Rocky and a dog named Toby. They both love to bother me when I am on the brink of exploding from stress. Rocky is a twenty pound cat that does a lot of nothing. My black lab Toby is the complete opposite. He is a crazy, hyper mutt. Toby loves running around the perimeter of our yard chasing all types of animals. Rocky stays inside and sometimes hunts the occasional stink bug. Whenever someone new comes to the house, they always talk about how lean my dog is and how large my cat is. My dog doesn't eat enough and my cat eats way too much. They are quite the pair of pets.

Leslie's Point of View

It was around 8 when I was walking through the halls going to my first class. Almost to my destination Tom Banks, a freak, approached me and started to talk about last night's football game. I could care less about anything that he said, I wanted to get to class to see Mark who asked me to homecoming last night! I just stood there, smiling and nodding, hoping he would be on his way soon enough.

When he was done with whatever he was talking about he awkwardly waved and walked away, looked back at me and in the process ran into someones open locker. I shook my head and started on my way to class. I walked by Sarah and waved, but all she did was give me a dirty look. I thought to myself if maybe I had done anything to upset her.

A Halloween Horror Story

"Open the door please! PLEASE" The boy pleaded as he banged on the door in desperation. She listen to him plead until she saw his small hand and slide down the door and not rise again...

3 Hours Earlier

Sean Anthony was getting ready for the best Halloween of his life. His costume, Sherlock Holmes, perfect route for the most candy collecting, and his friends to join him for the night. "Sean! Come down stairs it's almost 6! You better be hanging out soon!" His mother called up the stairwell. Sean ran down the stairs almost tripping on his coat. A bright flash stunned him for a half second. "Mom please! No pictures!" He held his hands up to his face trying to avoid anymore candid shots. "Sean, please next year you will be too cool to go trick-or-treating!" She sighed. "Oh alright. Be back here at 9, I don't want you out too late." Sean grabbed his pillowcase and ran out the door with a quick, "Okay Mom! Love you bye!"

As the bright moon lit up the sky, Sean found himself lugging a massive hull of candy back in the general direction of his house. It was 8:45. There was no way that he would be back in time. His friends lived closer to where they started, leaving him to walk home alone. He wasn't that afraid but it was dark and only getting darker. Sean had that hallow feeling that he was being followed. He kept checking over his shoulder only seeing shadows.

Suddenly something BIG jump in front of him. Sean dropped his candy and slowly backed away. The thing stepped with him. It had wings the length of a car, at least 7 feet tall. The most menacing feature of the beast was its glowing red eyes. Sean turned and ran. The couldn't hear the beast but he could feel it.

Sean saw the lights of a house. He ran to the door. The boy grabbed the door knob and twisted but it wouldn't budge. A little girl turned the corner in a lady bug costume. The little girl was about to let him in but then saw the red eyes and slowly backed away. "Open the door please! PLEASE" The boy pleaded as he banged on the door in desperation. She listen to him plead until she saw his small hand and slide down the door and not rise again...

The mother never saw her son again ...

A Good Listener

 A Good Listener

In Mice and Men George tells Slim the real reason that they had to leave Weed. George felt that he could trust Slim and Slim does not tell anyone about what George told him. George confided in Slim. Characteristics that make a good listener are, obviously, an ability to listen without interrupting, trustworthiness and a caring attitude towards people. You can almost feel that they really care about what you are telling them.

About a year ago, I was having an issues with a friend, we will call her, Amy. I tried talking to one of other friends, not gossiping but just telling her what Amy had done to upset. I felt better about telling someone about the situation. However, when I walked into class and Amy begins to get really angry. My other friend had told her about what I confided in her. She completely broke my trust. Amy and I walked out our issue but to this day I do not trust my friend that I talked to. It really hurt that she would break my trust like that.

One of my best friends, we will call her Caroline. She tells me everything. Everything from boys to that one girl she cannot stand. I always listen to her and tell her what she can do to make the problem better. I know that she will always be there to do the same thing for me. I tell her everything. I know that she will never tell anyone what I tell her in confidence. She has my full trust and I hope she knows that I have hers.
